Question "Why can't I throw the ball up straight when I serve?"
Answer "The ball should bounce in front of you and a little to the right when you throw it up". Follow these tips if you are having problems!
- Try serving without moving your feet for 10 serves - see if you can do it! Are you moving your feet to compensate for poor ball placement
- Keep your arm locked straight when you throw up the ball
- Imagine you are throwing the ball up a chimney!
- Check that the ball is gently in the palm of you hand (dont grip too tight)
- Release the ball out of your hand at shoulder height (any sooner and it will go all over the place)
- Leave your arm up as long as you can after throwing the ball up
